Andreas von Buddenbrock (a.k.a. “The Ink Trail”) was born in 1988 in Stockholm, Sweden. Having drawn for most of his life, he decided to take up an art education at BASIS School of Art. After finishing his basic studies, Andreas moved to Hong Kong to attended the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), spending time at the school’s Sham Shui Po-based campus and main campus in Savannah, GA (USA). In 2015, he graduated with a B.F.A. in Illustration and moved to New York City where he worked as an assistant to Swedish sculptor Anders Krisár, as well as an employee of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA/MoMA PS1). After his time in “the Big Apple”, Andreas eventually moved back to Hong Kong, where he has since worked as a freelance illustrator and art tutor. His ink-based artwork has been seen in both solo- and group shows around the world and in a variety of mediums such as magazines, posters and books (including the “World’s Largest Coloring Book”, winner of Guinness World Records 2018). An avid lover of Hong Kong, his drawings portray both famous landmarks and other, more hidden spots located around the city. When he’s not working on his art, Andreas can be seen hiking around Hong Kong in search of new inspiration.
